I moved to Oklahoma in 1990 but it was not until December 1999 that I bought my first home with my husband Allen in Brookhaven. We had looked at homes for several months and decided on Brookhaven. What I liked about Brookhaven were the trees, the way the addition was laid out, the park and its location to everything! Though we had always paid our dues, Allen and I did not become involved with the HOA until 2008. We both felt that we needed to connect with the community we live in and the time was right to become involved. Through our involvement with the HOA, we have become friends with great people who care about our neighborhood. We’ve also become aware of the challenges Brookhaven faces as an voluntary association. I current chair the Beautification Committee and serve as Secretary on the HOA Board. My hope it to help people become invested in the future of Brookhaven because it’s a wonderful place to live.
