RE:                  Meeting to discuss Preliminary Plat of Birnam Woods

You are cordially invited to attend a meeting to discuss the Preliminary Plat for Birnam Woods Addition to be located on the southwest corner of Covell and Bryant.  This meeting will be held in the Banquet Hall, Room 107, of the Edmond Downtown Community Center, 28 E. Main, on the southwest corner of Main and Littler in Downtown Edmond from 6:00-7:00 P.M., on Thursday May 26, 2011.

This meeting is coordinated by the Community Connections Program.  The meeting format will consist of a review of the project by the developer and then a time for questions and discussion of issues specifically relating to the proposal.   The purpose of the meeting is to provide information to the residents about the proposed project and for the developer to answer questions and listen to issues raised by the residents.  While city staff representatives from the Planning Department may attend this meeting, the purpose is not to hear from the city but for the residents and the developer to have an informal discussion about the proposed project.

Please join us at the DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY CENTER on THURSDAY,

May 26, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. for this meeting where developers, the city, and neighborhoods forge partnerships for managed growth in Edmond.  We look forward to your participation and thank you for taking an active role in your community.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 359-4796.

Please attend City of Edmond Planning Commission Tonight

May 17, 2011
By Allen
We obtained information concerning tonight's meeting.
Birnam Woods, LLC, representing Kyle Copeland, is requesting
approval of a preliminary plat, located on the 40 acres adjacent
to Brookhaven North. The hearing tonight is before the Edmond
Planning Commission and held at 20 South Littler,
City Council Chambers, Edmond City Hall.

Meeting time: 5:30
Meeting date: Tuesday, May 17, 2011
Try to make personal contact with the decision makers
through calls, emails, personal visits.

Maintain cordial/professional discussions at all times.
Threats are ineffective.

Tell the decision makers our story. Have as many people from our
addition there as possible. Numbers count, so packing the council chambers
will have an effect. Emphasize that undersized houses will be crammed onto
small lots. Bring to light the impact that such a large amount of homes
within a small area will have on water and sewer resources.

Ask for a Community Connections meeting. This is a formalized meeting
set up by Jan Ramsey from the planning department. This meeting allows all
parties to mediate difference.
