Once again the Oklahoma ice storms have hit Brookhaven and left a wake of limbs for homeowners and once again the City of Edmond is NOT providing any limb or debris removal assistance.
The city website states “At this point, the city has not reached the threshold where we would dedicate crews and assistance to collect debris. As a result, the City will not be providing separate curbside debris collection. However, residents do have several options that are available for disposing of such debris.”
Summarized options listed for residents include:
- Take limbs to the Edmond Transfer station, east of I-35 on Covell. To receive the discount, show their driver’s license and city of Edmond utility bill. The cost for disposal of debris is $15 for a level bed pick up load full of debris.
- Residents can also schedule a bulk pickup at their curb by calling 359-4541. The fee for collecting and disposing of the tree limbs or other debris will be added to the monthly utility bill.
- For limited debris, residents can place bags of debris in their cart for the weekly curbside collection.
- Purchase city-coded bags from local retail and home improvement stores. The cost of the city-coded bags prepays the fee for collection and disposal of the debris.
- To report debris in the roadway, please call 216-7770.
For Private Contractor options, the HOA uses the following two insured vendors for debris removal:
- Pitzers Lawn Management, Inc. (405) 844-8908
- Flying Brian’s Tree Service, (405) 282-1398
