After many years of planning and budgeting, the Association has completed the electric light installation at the Covell and Bryant entrances. Baxter Electric was contracted to provide the installation services. The goal was to increase visibility to the Brookhaven entrances at Covell and Bryant and to provide electric to both sides of the entrances. Both have been accomplished! The lights are LED that provide optimal lighting at nominal cost, require no maintenance and are on timer. This is what the Association can do for our neighborhood when you pay your dues. Thank you! Now for more Christmas lights!
Special thanks to Denise for getting the bids and working with contractors to get this project completed. Thank you for allocating the $25 per year of your dues to this lighting project to update our neighborhood appearance. See you soon at the annual meeting.
Below, the experts from Oklahoma Direct Bore work to drive a PVC pipe under Brookhaven Drive at the Bryant entrance. One operator runs the boring equipment while another monitors the bore tip electronically. Two other workers monitor equipment and water level in the hole.
Another view of the boring machine.
The old gas lamps had to come out. They were in need of repair and had been costing over $1,000 a year to operate. The trenching at the Covell entrance ran into a lot of irrigation pipe, which the contractors repaired. The good news is we found the valve box.
The main contractor for the project was Baxter Electric, whose team worked late into Friday night to complete the project in due to scheduling with the landscape company.
The new lights installed are LED and should operate for many years without need of bulbs or repairs. The contractor also added an electrical receptacle to each entrance flower bed for easier installation of Christmas lights.
Thank you for making the entrances beautiful 🙂
